GForce Engineering and Technology, Inc. is a small but growing business focused on performance and staffed with motivated professionals ready to deliver the highest quality products and services to our clients in the areas of engineering and technology.

GForce has extensive experience at the Hanford and INEEL Sites in the areas of technical consulting. GForce has completed numerous projects in line with our commercial manufacturing support business. Our small, highly versatile staff provides a wide array of capabilities. When coupled with our teaming partners, GForce is the single source for meeting all of our clients engineering and technology needs.

GForce Engineering & Technology, Inc. was established on May 22, 2002. GForce was established with the vision to be the best engineering, manufacturing support, and technical services company of its size and capability, by creating the best working environment for our employees; delivering the best products and services to our customers; and providing the best value to our clients.

Laura Mashaw

Laura Mashaw earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from New Mexico State University. She started her career in the banking industry working in mortgage loans. In 1988, Laura went to work for Westinghouse at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) where she supported the TRU Waste and Integration Department in preparing and incorporating comments to the WIPP Safety Basis and working with the Department of Energy to obtain approval of the WIPP Safety Analysis Report.

Laura also provided support to the Engineering Department for budget and cost control. In 1994, Laura took time off to stay at home to raise her children, then after spending 13 years raising a family, she returned to the work force as the Office Manager for GForce.

Since 2008, Laura has been responsible for day-to-day operation of the company, including administration, contract management, staffing, recruiting, financial reporting, benefits administration, and business development support. In May 2011, Laura was elected as President of GForce, while continuing her role as the Office Manager.

Steven D. Godfrey, PMP

Probably best known for his emphatic drive for success and his hands-on leadership, Steve Godfrey began his career with Halliburton Services after graduating from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.

Mr. Godfrey left Halliburton in 1980 and moved to Richland, Washington, where he began his long standing relationship with the Department of Energy and the Hanford Nuclear Site.

During his 30 year engineering and project management career, Mr. Godfrey spent 19 years working for Rockwell Hanford Operations, Westinghouse Hanford Company, and Fluor Hanford Inc. under various engineering and management positions. He gained a reputation for being a tireless worker, consummate professional, and having an uncanny ability to build winning teams and “Get the Job Done.”

Mr. Godfrey’s drive and reputation led him to become the Vice President and General Manager of a small growing consulting firm in 1999. He was an integral part in growing that business to a $5 million company in less than three years.

Mr. Godfrey decided to start his own company in early 2002, when he founded GForce on May 22, 2002. He based the company on a formula of cutting-edge technology coupled with the industry’s premier professionals. Under his leadership, GForce has established a proven record of success by delivering superior products and services, specifically tailored to their clients.

Harold Mashaw

Harold Mashaw began his career with the United States Navy. After serving in the military, Mr. Mashaw spent the next 27 years working for Lundberg Industries, Ltd., Westinghouse Electric Company, Western Environmental Management, Scientific Ecology Group, and Westinghouse Engineered Products Department in various project management and engineering roles.

Mr. Mashaw then became a senior project engineer for a small engineering and consulting firm. During that time, Mr. Mashaw was responsible for leading a construction project mechanical engineering team. His assignments included the design, fabrication, and installation of the

K-Basin in-pool equipment, supporting startup testing and turnover of the Fuel Retrieval System project and the Fuel Transfer System project at the Hanford Site in Washington.

Mr. Mashaw joined GForce as a founding owner in May 2002. His role with GForce is focused on managing the engineering and design team, as well as providing technical consulting support for ongoing operations at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation. Mr. Mashaw provides strong hands-on experience as a project manager and project engineer in NQA-1 shop fabrication, pressure vessel design, testing, and related manufacturing and design processes. He also provides experience in mixed waste handling operations, procedure development, and NQA-1 requirements implementation.

 

David B. Courson

Dave Courson began his career as a construction boilermaker, followed by rapid advancement into construction supervision as a General Foreman and Project Superintendent.

Mr. Courson expanded his career goals by moving into plant maintenance / management, planning, and project controls. Dave began this advancement by entering the work force at the Department of Energy (DOE) Richland Operations Hanford Nuclear Facility. His major focus during this period was maintenance management, maintenance planning and project scheduling.

In the early 1990’s Dave was promoted into management with a focus on Project Scheduling, where he held positions as Project Scheduling Manager, Program Administrator, and Cost/Work Package Manager. In1993, he was selected to represent the Hanford Project on a special assignment to the Under Secretary of DOE Environmental Management. During this assignment, Dave developed project resource loaded schedules for future plans across the DOE Complex. Mr. Courson worked on major projects as an offsite Project Manager/Expeditor, Planner & Scheduler on several occasions. In these positions, Dave was directly responsible for the off-site fabrication, testing, completion and delivery of NQA-1 fabrication and manufacturing projects.

Since the late 1990’s, Mr. Courson has developed his expertise in Project Scheduling & Control and Earned Value Management. He has worked as the Primavera Administrator and Senior Project Scheduler developing Enterprise Project Structure, WBS, logic driven resource loaded schedules, EVM/A, and managed baseline development & control projects.
